Search Engine Submission and monitoring software is far too often used as a lazy way to claim that a site is being promoted for a client. Promises of submissions to 'thousands of websites' are generally meaningless in terms of the impact such actions will have on your rankings where it really counts at the big four. The truth is that the major engines should find your pages without you having to submit and the smaller engines will rapidly catch up and index your site too. Submission of your domain name at major engines does not get a site indexed immediately or result in it receiving advantageous treatment. Any site that is updated and links through to other sites on the web will not need frequent submission. It should be picked up by the engines and re-indexed with every major crawl.
