Manual Search Submissions are essentially an insurance policy. If you know a site lacks any links pointing to it because it is a wholly new doain then manual search submissions may be a quick and easy guarantee that an engine will swing on by when it next crawls the web. We feel probably slightly more appropriate with ccTLDs as opposed to .com / .net gTLDs, new registrations of which appear to be recorded more widely. Contrary to popular (but false) impression, submitting individual pages is not effective and is instead regarded as 'spamming' the search engines. The home URL is sufficient and the engines will crawl a site to a depth they determine, not one dictated by the sitemaster |
